FizFit for the love of cake


This 45-minute class is a calesthenics workout using your bodyweight as the primary weight resistance. It is recommended that you train at least 2 sessions a week as a minimum for noticeable results. The more regular you are with your exercise the better you will feel year round. This is a high intensity workout program and you should not be injured, sick or have any contagious diseases before embarking on any kind of exercise program. If necessary, please consult and seek the written approval from your doctor before signing up. FizFit is so called because of the program's purpose, to build physical fitness. Using only our bodies, we will teach you how to tone your arms, legs and abs, develop strength, become fitter and build incredible stamina and recovery.

Group Classes
There are 3 levels of progression: Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced.

Beginners' classes are designed for people who are not physically fit or new to the workout program. The Beginner's class is not a reflection on your physical fitness rather it is an opportunity for you to learn the correct form, proper technique and workout protocols. The Beginner class is intended to impart technique first, safety and establishing the correct mindset.

Intermediate classes are more challenging and with each progression level, technique instruction is minimized with the focus on the actual workout itself. The intention is that by the time you are invited to join the Intermediate classes you should already be very familiar with the names of the movements and just go for the reps! The trainer will still monitor and ensure that you have correct form and perform the exercises safely. Here we introduce fitness tools to increase the resistance in your workouts.

Advanced classes may also not necessarily mean that the class is harder, however; it does have the prerequisite that you already possess an excellent sense of balance, hand-eye coordination and will be challenged with progressively more difficult movements and exercises.

When you are ready, you will be bumped to the next level by invitation.

Personal Challenge
Many fitness enthusiasts simply enjoy a personal challenge much like a runner would train for and participate in a marathon. Some enjoy the challenges but all would like to be recognised for fitness and physical excellence on fitness. Typically, these fitness enthusiasts have no desire or time to compete formally, teach or lead classes on a professional basis. This is what the Personal Challenges are designed for. Instead of going to a competition, the competition comes to you!

I had known KDT Academy from a friend and decided to give it a try, since I was looking for ways to tone and build-up my body. For the first time when I visited KDT Academy, the studio was pretty much empty without much equipments, unlike other trendy GYMs in the neighbourhood. But when I meet up with Vince, the instructor, and had a few chat, I've discovered that the instructor is very knowledgeable and I've decided to sign up for personal training. The training sessions turn out to be a huge challenge to my body. The excercises were amazing and commendable. It is "out of this world", not something that I've seen, natural and using limited equipments, but takes a great toll on the body muscles. I kind of like the after feeling of workout and that sensation lasted for next couple of days. Every training session keeps me excited as I will never get the same workouts for each training that I attend. After a couple of months with KDT Academy, naturally my body gets firmed up and muscles were showing by it self. What I like about the workouts is that the excercises were very natural ways of getting the muscles tone up and as a result, I my body muscles growth are balanced without looking too pumped up but fit. I would say it is a very good and valuable experience joining KDT Academy.

Vince Choo's philosophy is simple and if it's one thing you take away from him it should be this; "you get what you want". Five simple words that hold so much meaning and the power to get what you want. I joined KDTA because I needed to lose weight and increase my stamina, and over the years I got so much more than that, I've made friendships that will last me a life time and wonderful people I would have never had the opportunity to meet. Since joining KDTA in June 2005, my life has changed immensely. Vince makes you believe in yourself and makes you do things you don't want to, he makes you want to "change" to make your life better.

The Fizfit workouts have done wonders for me personally, I've lost weight, feel healthier and I have increased stamina, in my books he's done more than his job to get me fighting fit and healthy. One of my athletes, Mr. KB Gan, 56 years young when he joined, started the workout program a few months after his two sons joined because he saw their fantastic stamina gains, weight loss results, positive mindset and healthy lifestyle practices they took home. Encouraged by this and also because of his slowly rising cholesterol levels, Mr.KB Gan took the plunge and joined the regular classes. He has an excellent work ethic, pushes himself and never complains, quietly and steadily working his way to a whole new, fitter and healthier lifestyle. I want to share a letter which he wrote that he passed to me recently. After surprising his doctor who was impressed by the lowered cholesterol, much improved cholesterol readings, Mr. Gan continues to be a regular face at our workouts and is steadily maintaining his overall health.
Janice "For me, being ‘fit’ means being able to physically keep up with my daily activities as a mother to 2 active young boys while still having a career and pursuing my own personal interests. I guess that one of the biggest challenges for most working mothers is to be able to find time out from work and home to exercise.

Fortunately, I am married to a wonderful person who is always supportive when it comes to fitness. He introduced me to Vince and his core strength boot camps at KDT Academy. My early weeks were tough. Just imagine from hardly ever having to do any sort of push-ups or squats in my life to doing reps of 20’s or more in a session. I never knew that there can be so many variations to a push-up until then.

What's amazing about these exercises is that there is a minimum use of equipment. We were trained to use our own body weight as resistance. This gave us an overall range of motion for each part of our body. My days then were often filled with muscle aches from the previous day’s workout.

Nowadays, I make it a point to workout at 2-3 times a week at the KDT. Vince’s recent introduction of kettlebells had brought in new and exciting challenges for me. Personally, I have found this new item amazingly challenging and effective. The fats really do melt off with kettlebells training. I’m pleased to say that I can now fit into my jeans worn 15 years ago.

I now realize that I am able to run after my boys with better stamina and flexibility at the kids’ gym, to carry the market basket with better strength and of course, to be able to function more effectively at work. I noticed that my confidence in handling various situations also grows along with my fitness and endurance level. I guess this is what they mean by functional strength. These are the things that really keep me going each day and that encourage me to keep myself fit and healthy.

Thanks to Vince’s professional training methods and support as a trainer and good friend, I dare say that I have never been fitter in my life than I am now.
